One valve clearance miles out of spec
 

2009 KLX250S Checking a noisy valve has revealed that the intake clearances are fine, as is one exhaust valve. The other gap measures .508mm, instead of .19 max.
The shim that's in there is 3.46mm
Am I right in suspecting something untoward is going on with that valve ? What is the likely issue/fix please ?
