Hello everyone, I am the new (somewhat) proud owner of a 1982 Kawasaki kz550 and new to this forum. I ran a search on oil light problems but I did not see anything that matched my symptoms, but sorry if this is a redundant post. My oil light turns on when the engine is running below 2500 rpm, and as soon as it is above 2500 rpm the light turns off. The oil is at an appropriate level, not as high as it could be but close. Is this just a faulty sensor or something much more dire?

 

I think that you are on the correct path since you do not have tools to verify the issue. Welcome to KF
