Leaking Speedo Cable
I have a 1987 454 LTD - still in great shape and pretty much all original as I bought it. Today it started leaking oil from the speedometer - seems to be at the connection or up inside of the speedo housing - hard to tell. Is there a seal that can be replaced or might it be a plugged crankcase vent? I've inspected the cable sheath for cracks or dry rot and don't see any Any suggestions will be appreciated.
where exactly is it leaking? all the way up at the speedo, or down where it connects at? may just be a simple seal replacement at the drive end and you're golden.. might be able to get the seal at an industrial supply place.. i get mine for about 1/4 of what they cost, as well as bearings and other stuff from an industrial supply house..
