Kh 125 running problem.engine running away

Hi, I have a v reg (1999) kh125 that has an apparent throttle sticking problem, it will tick over but when you twist the throttle the revs run away, the cable is ok, the carbs been stripped and a bent pin was straightened, the tanks been drained and the strange thing is that when you push the choke lever over it slows it down and you can control the revs with it.........the garage that did this work have now given up and the bike is now back with me..the slider in the carb appears to work ok...any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...thanks in advance

Not sure if the model is correct.Sounds like motor has an air leak. If it is a 2 Stroke, would pressure check it. possible crank seals or base gasket leak!

might be air leak. check where the carb is connected to the rubber boot that goes into the airbox. had a kx250 with a rip in the rad valve boot
