HELP!!!Octane Booster or carb fuel injector cleaner?

I have a bike that we have not been actively riding. The gas in the bike is from the fall. I have heard about octane booster and carb fuel injector cleaners. Can anyone give advice on which one if any i should use to get the best performance and the smoothest idle and throttle response? It starts up okay, but initally a little rough. i rode it earlier today and it rode okay, but i want to get it back in best working condition.

Bike is 2008 Ninja 500r.

Thanks:)

hmm, drain the bad gas first. Put in fresh (and I recently tried seafoam which worked after a 30 minute or so ride. ) good luck and welcome to KF

yup yup, throw that old gas in the SUV or the lawn mower, it breaks down over time and $10 worth of gas would take $15 of additives to get it burnable in your bike. I'd also clean the carbs as well.

Don't waste your money on that additive crap. Try using fresh gas; recommended octane, first.

Octane boosters used with stale fuel makes it even harder to burn.

Use an injector cleaner, as your fuel system may be partly gummed up, but use fresh gas. 5% diesel fuel in the gas makes a pretty good injector cleaner and it lubes the fuel system as well, but only for one tank ful of fuel.
