OK guys got a brand new maintenance free battery today, shop said it was ready to go drop her in and ride. So I put it in fired up my Vulcan and figured I'd go for my first ride since buying the bike. I got to the end of my drive way and the bike stalled, when I hit the starter she acted like a dead battery. so I pushed it back to garage and hooked up the charger started up like nothing was wrong, checked the voltage at the battery its 13.8 at an idle I can't seem to find any lose connections either, any suggestions??????????????[:@]

 

update rechecked voltage with different voltmeter and 12.5 at 3 thosand rpms,regulator or stator?

 

12.5 is what the battery should be putting out by itself. if its not getting up above 13 then the stator isn't putting out

 

whats the AC output from the stator? sounds like you lost something in that charging system.. man, i hope not..
