connecting a car battery to zx9r battery
I get there and the car battery is connected to the cycle battery and wont start. i examine to find all plug wires in wrong cyclenders. and grounds frayed. [align=right]
I dont think the car battery thing is your problem. Motorcycle stators put out about 14.5 volts just like a car would. Even with the car running I dont think there is anything more than you would get with your bike's charge system.
this is from the Dyna 2000 website:

get the Dyna manual out and see if you can get it into this test mode. or read what they say about the flashing light. Double check their wiring - did they somehow hook it up backwards?

TEST MODE- System check out and troubleshooting is a breeze with this feature.

I found the manual online, for the dyna ignition for a 1995 zx9. It says that when the ignition is first installed, the LED will blink. This indicates the first powerup, like a setup mode. Sounds like somehow your system got de-programmed and is in the initial setup mode. I would re-check all the wiring, and try going through the initial setup again. The applicability chart says that at DDK2-7 will fit a 91-96 ZX7 or ZX9. I am guessing that's the model you have???

Be careful with using hotter coils. I use the Hotwires on my 9, and like the way they give a nice clean burn, but I'm plenty satisfied with the stock coils. The Dyna's can do nasty things in a hurry.
I'd personally go back to stock to give yourself a reference point when re-connecting everything where it ought to go (because you know the stock setup won't toast your bike.) THEN, doing one install at a time, I'd switch to the Hotwires, then to the Dyna's. If you try to install everything at the same time and fry something, you lose your reference point. I'd also recommend doing these installs yourself so YOU know how they go together (and don't have to clean up after someone else.)

thanks for link.
i installed the ignition system and it worked when i finished because i followed instructions.
stock coils are junk. seriously. after the upgrade the bike was louder. i had to yel over it at idle. and flames were coming out of th pipe. before when i got it, it would just flood if starting or you used the choke or touchd throttle.
carb still needs file tuning but thats a lesser problem than other things now.
travis said he started it. said it need fuel pump relay. then solenoid.
dec 6 we finish it. he will set valve timing to 105 and 105 at 1mm lift and im puting swithches so i dont have to hot wire it anymore.
i still need to reduce plug gaps and probably put in colder plugs. see how it runs first.

great. Thats a good feeling when you think something is fried and you just find it wasnt hooked up right. Keep us posted- there shouldnt be any flames out of the exhaust. Are the pipes glowing near the cylinder?
i didnt run it that long.
pipes have lepard pattern. didnt turn solid gold like the lean stock bikes do. insuficient heat being produced from carberation.
it was way too rich when i got it. still is. was just mentioning it as a note. i could run nitro mix with it and not even think about jetting.
it had no power. and felt like it wanted to not run. felt the flooding.
i will lean it to the point it should be. slightly rich. after set up will do base line run and with assorted fuels.
