Default Clutch slipping - yet another problem

well after getting a new front sprocket to get my gearing back to before the stealer knobbed it up i still don't have the full top speed i should have. I've had a couple of people suggest to me this may be because of clutch slip.

it's been gradually getting worse and it's through all gears now, not just low ones, it used to just slip on 1st > 2nd and 2nd > 3rd. Now it also slips when i pull away occasionally as well, not if i'm at a junction stopped, but after i've got off the bike and back on - it's really wierd. And it will happen even after an hours riding.

Anyone help me on sorting this out? is it something I can do myself or is a stealer going to have to look at it? I've got a factory manual which explains a few things but never done anything on the clutch before

any help would be muchly appreciated.

Its a BN125 2007 model if that's any help too

Chars

Replace the clutch plates. They're shot. Seems that you may just be pushing your little scoot harder than it was intended. If you need to go faster, go bigger!

Yeah, a good indication especially after a thief had the ride.

edit: I thought the Stealer term was for thief. oops

thought they might be - is it an expensive job and is it something i can do myself or am i gonna have to pay someone £200 to do it?

i don't need to go faster, i'd just like my bike to go as fast as it used to - i've only had to push it harder than i'd like over the last month or so due to stealer putting a smaller sprocket on the front hence my loss of top speed

would clutch slipping also explain why - now i have the original size sprockets on - i still can't hit my original top speed?

also, is this not something that should be checked during a service?
