Default chain cleaning

I'm out to clean my chain up good, real good. I figure that soaking it in kerosene would be the best, but I am not quite sure if it is O-ring safe. Just wanted to ask those who have done this before if this is wise or if there is a better solvent to do this with.

Kerosene is O ring safe. Have used it for years. Check out this from the DIY section https://www.kawasakiforums.com/m_11072/tm.htm
