bling bling blinker.... busted
alright so i recently bought an 07 klx 250 and the stock blinkers were great for a while untill i dumped the bike a few times and broke not only the light housing but also the post and the tab that comes off of the back rack. anyway not important, so i replaced them with some aftermarket led blinkers, but now my blinkers blink twice as fast. I know that usally that means you have a light out, and you need to replace it. But it stays that way even with the new blinkers hooked up properly (properly meaning, there are only two wires how hard can that be to screw up?). Also does it matter that the front blinkers are diffrent from the rear blinkers? oh yeah and the new ones say they run on 12v system....
As you have already mentioned. Having a blinker go out is similar to running leds. less resistance. So resistors are installed to compensate. Check out the 6r section. Maybe even the diy section.
I replaced my blinkers with aftermarket ones and I too had the dreaded fast blink. I bought a relay that plugs right in to the wiring harness that not only fixed the fast blink, but gave me 4 more choices of blink patterns. Hmmmmm lets see if I can find that thread, Oh yea its called the search button. I typed in fast blink. Here you go.
