650sx electrical bug
Quick review: last august my buddy crashed an X2 into the front of my ski and almost sunk it. The hull filled up, but I managed to get it to shore. Then I discovered the electrical box was filled with water and the solenoid was fried. I replaced that back then and it fired right up. I left the e-box open inside the dry hull through the winter and just last month tried to fire it up a again, but got nothing not a sound. I accidentally snapped one of the studs on the solenoid, so there’s another new one in there now, still nothing.
With my multimeter on the negative of the battery and the positive on the studs of the solenoid, only the battery side stud is reading 12.40v and the starter side stud reads 0. I checked continuity of the wire going from the solenoid to the starter and read les than 1. The solenoid is wired up correctly for a fact. I have no idea what could be causing this. The only thing I can think of is the other unit next to the solenoid is bad, not sure what that’s called though. thanks |
