1995 GPz 1100
Hey everyone I am new to the forum and this is my first post. I am not new to bikes or to Kaw.
Have had: 1989 ZX10 1990 Ninja 750 1995 GPz 1100 Then I got married? hahahaha....now I am divorced so I just had to do it? Now another 95' GPz 1100 which was just picked up today. Has 22K. Bought as dead. Tried to start and all it will do is turn over. Seems to have a very weak spark? It had been sitting in this fella's garage in LI, NY about 2.5 hrs away from me in CT. I think for a couple of seasons. What I am asking is what is the best step by step process to revive this beast. Been away from wrenching on them for 10 + yrs. So all the help I can get would be great. Should I post a pic of it? Many Thanks, Eden 203-887-7771 |
Welcome to KF.
Go back to your basics again, battery, connections. Then progress further. |
Agreed :) Then I would look at carburation. If it sat with fuel in it the whole time, the gas would go bad and varnish the carb. You would need to take the carbs off and give them a good cleaning, especially the pilot jets. Also look at the tank. Make sure that no rust started to develop. I would also add an inline fuel filter just in case. Good luck with the GPz and welcome.
