1981 Z200 Front Brake
I have just been given an old (but perfectly useable) Z200.
Great fun apart from the awful cable operated front brake.
Does anyone know if there is a hydrolic front brake that will fit straight into the place of the stock unit. or is there any way of making the exisiting brake work better.
Thanks in advance for any advise

well.. first off, welcome to KF!!
secondly, how corroded and kinked/worn is the steel liner in the cable? or the cable itself.. if you've lubed up the cable but have not has sucess in freeing it up more, a new cable may be a wise choice to buy some time til you can (possibly) convert to a hydraulic setup.
i'm sure theres a way.. it's not drum tho, is it?.. not too familiar with it, and am too lazy to look it up, like i should do..lol

Thanks for the welcome.
It is a cable operated disc brake, the cable is relatively new, but i will pull it apart and give it a good oiling. I used to have one of these types of brakeon my old Honda 125s (My My My the memories come flooding back, 1976 I think)and that was useless too. I have a new set of pads to fit but won't attempt that until i can locate a Haynes workshop manual on ebay.
