Default What size????

I have a 130 on the back of my bike right now (the 250) I just want to know what the biggest I can put on there would be. My hubby says 140 is as big as I can get for the bike. I really want to get some avons for them and am wondering if I can go wider and how to go about it

From what I have heard and read it isnt good to change the width of your tire unles you change wheel size to a wider one as well. the tire wont fit properly and will cause it not to wear correctly and other things because the tire was not designed to run on a smaller wheel. I am by no means any kind of expert though so i would wait for some other posts by more experienced peeps. just my 2/100th of a dollar

changing the rear tire does affect the bike. to put it in a nut shell and i think notstock might agree with me on this, but it makes the bike feel heavier.... the way it turns, power output, and handling.... no doubt a bigger tire looks better and i think 140 is as big as you could go on your bike... which sux... but if you don't mind all that stuff i just listed, then babygirl have at it... you just got to make sure that you have enough clearance between the spurs... the chain may rub at times but have a shop check it out first.....

i agree with the MAD man.... I have a buddy with a GSXR and he replaced his rear with a larger one, i gotta say it makes a huge difference......turns, street handling, traction, and even speed.... if you are dragging your bike(which i think not) you could benefit from this...if not, i wouldn't suggest it.

A wider rear will make your steering a little different. It won't be quite as tight as with the stock width.

The wider tire will look better, but if you like to hit the twisties from time to time, your handling will be effected.
