Need a little buying help
I have the potential to buy a 2002 Kawasaki KLR 250 with new crank bearing, new piston rings, new seal kit, and a new battery in 2014. It has 26,530 miles. Guy says its in excellent condition. He is selling it for $975, but might try to talk him down a bit.
I have not been able to see it yet other than a couple pictures. Does this seem like a good deal? Is this a lot of miles and I should be weary? Any info is much appreciated. Thanks

It sounds like a good deal to me. As long as the bike was properly maintained I wouldn't worry too much about the mileage. I'd ask how often he changed the oil as that's a good indicator of how well he cared for the bike.
Why did it need crank bearings?
It could be a decent deal.
Once a year oil change for a 2002...If he rode it consistently that would be about 2000 miles per year, which could be just about right.

I'd save my money and buy a lower mileage bike, my preference is under 10k. Everything on that bike needs to be pulled apart and lubed. Steering, swingarm etc. Chain might be due, tires, all rubber that matters. Cheap good deals can cost you more in the long run. Just my 2 cents.
