exceding break in limits

Hey everyone. I'm sure you all have been asked this before. But I have an 06 zx6r and she only has a little over 100 miles on her right now. I'm just wondering if i take her over 4000 rpms if I'm going to hurt the bike at all. I can only do like 45 in 6th gear at 4000 rpms. I can't wait intill the bike is broke in so that i can start to really ride. Any sujestions or comments?

You should try to vary the RPM's as much as possible. Going over the manufacturer suggested a little bit isnt going to hurt the bike, but dont go cracking WOT either. What you really want ot avoid is "lugging" the engine ie. having the engine in too high of a gear so it has to struggle to accelerate. I had to get on the accelerator a couple of times while breaking it in and it runs fine.

Quick question, I didn't know about the break in period and after getting comfortable with the bike around 500 miles onthe odometer starting taking the bike about 6000 to 7000 rpms. I have never red lined the bike and have only taken the bike as high 9000. Do you think there is an damage and should I keep running the bike at 6000 or can I go above that now? I'm at around 800 miles

I 've heard since I was a kid to break an engine in hard and it's what I've always done on everything I've owned . No problems here . Break it in the way your gonna ride it .
