cover it up? i ride it when it rains. why would i need to cover it? i'd cover it at home rain or shine if i didn't have a garage. but out on the town there is no need.

I'd say ALWAYS cover your bike no matter if it rains or not, covers give some basic protection agains elements (sun, rain, snow:D or wind and dust)

honestly the sun is a lot rougher on your bike than rain. UV kills paint and especially the seats, breaks down the plastic inthe windscrean etc. but nothing is tougher on a bike than bird poop ;)

+ 1 to what Kohburn is saying - before I bought my KLE I checked out one just like it, 3 years newer and it was kept out in the open & in the sun. all dials and markings faded out, paint was flaking off and the whole thing looked like it was just about to fall apart. Now that doesn't happen due to high mileage. No kiddin - keep it covered.
