No oil pressure after oil change

Hello,
I have a 2012 Versys 1000, and after I change the oil I have a very hard time getting the oil pressure to come back. There must be an air lock happening at the oil pump. Does anyone have any answers as to why this is happening. Is there a special procedure to follow to prevent this from happening. Any advise is greatly appreciated.

I do not have a versys, so have you prefilled the filter with oil prior to engine start up?

Yes I do pre-fill the filter, but that does not solve the problem. I have found out in the meantime that you need to leave the filter loose, start the engine and let it run until the oil starts to spill out, and then tighten the filter. I have tried it. It is a messy way of doing things , but it works.
Thanks for the reply.
