Hi all. My bike (2009 er6n) occasionally just clicks the starter relay when pressing the start button. After several repeated presses of the button the starter eventually works and the bike starts. I pulled the starter relay/solenoid and tested it (applied 12v's to the coil side while measuring ohms (less than 1) on the contacts). There's also battery (12v) at the starter terminal when pressing the start button. My next check would be the starter and its brushes. I have never pulled this bike's starter out before so I referred to the shop manual. It looks pretty straight forward with removing the 2 mounting bolts and pulling it out. However, there doesn't appear to be enough clearance between the frame and throttle bodies. The other side of the bike looks just as tight.Am I overlooking something? any help or guidance would be appreciated!
Well maybe I should just ask, has anyone ever removed a starter motor from a 2009 er6n? If so could you please tell me how you did it? Thanks in advance.
