Default Restoring shine to your header pipes.

*Moderators please remove if this has been covered previously. Negative finds with my searches.*

I've been seeing several YouTube videos and other articles on cleaning your exhaust pipes to remove stains and discoloration. Most of these mention using bathroom cleaner solutions such as Lime Away and Harpic. Both of these have in common hydrochloric acid. The results of these looked amazing and peaked my interest. I couldn't locate any of the mentioned products but did find Lysol cleaner with hydrochloric acid as an ingredient. I cleaned the pipes off and applied some of the cleaner with a scrubber pad and found it really does work. It is now an included part of my bike wash routine.
** take precautions with hydrochloric acid! It's diluted but you should still wear latex gloves, safety glasses, and hose off with lots of water when done **

You can use Tarnite metal polish. Got mine from Amazon.

One time the guys at the bike shop cleaned a set using fine crocus cloth working around the the pipe, not lengthwise, because the pipe on the bike had that sort of "sanded" pattern. If I remember right, the pipe was the stainless one used on a Honda Hawk GT 650
