painting frame
i have a 97 zx7 with the silver frame, all the plastics are black, black rims, i was thining about painting the frame to match, or maybe using flat black just to break it up a little, has anyone done this before, what is the best way without taking it all apart, or will not taking it apart make it look like s#!t and its not worth doing....thanks guys.
If memory serves me, from working with some aluminum wheels a few years ago, I think there's some sort of cleaner or primer-type stuff you need to use on aluminum, if you want the paint to stick really well. It's been so long that I can't recall any names or brands, but I'm pretty sure you need to wipe down your frame first. Wish I had more details for you, sorry! [&o]
Yep, to have it look right, def strip it all down. I would have it powder coated instead of painting it.
Lot of work. Maybe instead of trying to color match the frame, put silver highlights elsewhere. Like silver rim stripes, etc. ?
