hi, i just got a kz1000 and it came with a kerker exhaust. it is ridiculously loud and too loud for nyc riding. what parts do i need to make it quieter? it is almost 4" in diameter at the end of the exhaust. i would like to make it quieter for my neighbors and nyc street legal.

 

hahaha, I feel for ya on the kerker exhaust issue. I have not done any research on the kerker rebuild. But there are some mats to repack. Re-pack it and see if it helps any.

The baffles will last forever, it is the repacking of the baffles/can that will help reduce the noise.

This is a baffle not the packing. There is a good chance that the baffle may be intact on your ride, but you just need to repack it.

 

there's nothing in the megaphone. completely empty.

 

Then that may be pretty dang loud. LOL
