I totaly agree with everyone. Srobak had a bike when he joined the fourms. And his bike was cool and still is cool in my book. I say let hime still be in the running. I'm sure when he has the chance to he will be out there riding like all of us will be. I think you should stay in the running there srobak. And like Mad Kwa said he is still a part of the KF Family and always will be a part of this family.

I agree with everyone else. Let him stay. Let the voting begin.

I'm afraid that this time I am going to have to decline. Some choice comments in the past by a moderator and a newbie have left a bad taste in my mouth about the situation, and has really let those people's true colors shine through.

I wouldn't want to get anyone bent out of shape again with a "phantom bike".

I find it amazing how petty people can be sometimes.

And for record - no Shon - none of this is directed towards you. The people who made the comments which were out of line know who they are, and so do I. I hope this makes them feel very good about themselves.

Well i'll speak up here, im not sure who the moderator you are talking about is, but the newbie im sure is me. Anyways, I simply PM'd Patrick to change my vote as I had voted for you in December but then you made the comment about not having the bike, In my opinion you should own the bike for it to be bike of the month(gotta have a bike to enter in in a race or show right?) , so I wanted to change my vote to Shon. It wasnt a personal problem with you at all. Heck I dont even know you. Like I said just my opinion and everybodys got one. Not a big deal unless you make it one

I seconded the nomination - I have no problem with it.

Shane accounts for one - it is in the mileage thread... I won't bother posting it here - I think between that post and this one above, one can clearly read between the lines.

Here is the other - in "Vote for favorite guy and girl" - it was authored at the time I was ahead in the voting, and was in response to Shon indicating that she didn't want her feelings hurt in the voting for favorite girl, because every month she gets sad when her bike gets a nomination and doesn't win:

I think your getting beat this month by a phantom bike

Not all have an eye for hard work, detail and love. All or most of the bikes are dam nice so it is hard to choose sometimes.

Have to start calling you Susanne Luchi lol
---

Now - before the onslaught comes of people saying I am bitter that I didn't win, yadda, begins - really - I don't care. It's not THAT big of a deal, and I am quite happy that she won ROTM. I think anyone deserves to be a little bent if they are nominated several times and don't win... I can certainly understand the frusteration, and I think that her bike deserves the recognition, as does she for the contributions she brings to the forum and the work she does with her bike.

But more than 1 person expressed themselves negatively about the bike... although "phantom bike" was a bit over the top & quite uncalled for.

Anyhow - as more than person had a problem with it - the last thing I want to do is start or be in the middle of a controversy - especially one that matters about as much as this box of paperclips in my top drawer here in my office. I think it is petty and un-necessary, and I am not going to put myself in a position to leave a bad taste in people's mouths. I do not need nor want those people's recognition or approval to appreciate the ride I once had, and while this will sound bad - I can't think of another way to word it - I don't need anyone elses either. Several people commented on my thread with the pix of the bike, and enjoyed the story I had to tell about it. I can enjoy it just fine without ROTM, and so can those people, and I appreciate their interest and admiration.

But even if you guys and Patrick allow it like he has in his other forum - thank you very much, but I am still going to have to decline. I will not be fuel for these individual's fire. They can drown in their pettiness for all I care.

$.02 (and change)

i dont feel that notstock intended that as an insult, and i dont think that he meant that to be a scarring remark. it seems that the membership as a majority feels that srobak should have a shot although he no longer has his bike, but at the same time, i do not want to alter the friendly environment that we have here at KF, and i am afrad that some people are possibly not speaking up..and that concerns me. if anyone would like to let me know what they think in private, you can pm me, and your thoguhts will remain confidential.

Yeah, what he said!!! I've voted for you in the past, and your contributions are valuable, so hopefully those negative posts will just be water under the bridge...........

Oh, for the record, the pics in my gallery of my bike don't represent it's present condition!! (Not that I've ben nom'd), but since the ladies declined my fine offer of adult beverages in exchange for a good wash-party, I'm doing it myself, and in order to do it right, and since I'm not far enough south (or well enough equipped) for year-round riding, I'm stripping 'er down and will clean the 'carcass' and each piece as I reassemble, so she's all pretty for the new season.....just so we're all clear.....

But the offer's still open lades, since I'm still in disassembly mode....

srobak;

Hey man I never meant anything by that remark except to be funny. By reading the above post I believe that you took this the wrong way, I apologize for any misunderstanding that I may have caused.

Personally I like you and all that you bring to KF. I do not have anything to do with this site except to moderate and keep people from making this a bad experience for all of the members. You can ask Patrick or bluebird about my response to Patrick’s post in the moderator’s room before I learned that this was all because of what I had said.

You once hosted a vid for me and I have always remembered that and believed it to be a nice jester on your part. I like to joke a lot and can find comedy in almost any situation, not always the best trait as seen from your post but that is me and it is always in good fun.

So once again, sorry bro for the remark.

Mike
