Boo, this is like asking "which is the best rock n roll band." Gadz; everyone has their opinion. I might suggest, since you brought it up, that Mobil 1 has a V-specific oil, as well as an inline-4 oil. There are many name brand synthetic oils on the market which will do just fine, and some may argue that conventional Dino oil works just fine, too. Regardless of which you choose, go for the oil with a high zinc/phosphorus additive package. (Shell Rotella scores high on this.) The zinc/phosphorus reduces the point source friction on rockers and valves, which ultimately makes your engine happy. Rislone makes a zinc/phosphorus additive (ZDDP) you can add to your oil, as well. I run a name-brand synthetic and add 1/2 cup of the Rislone. As for clutch problems, there are several opinions on this, also. I have run the "energy conserving" oil in my bikes with no clutch problems. Other riders have experienced very obvious problems using it. I think we can ALL agree, that regular maintenance is the important thing, regardless of which brand(s) you choose.
Others may want to jump in on this thread, for sure....
