buying a 2000

I'm thinking about replacing my 1500 classic with a 2003-2007 vulcan 2000. Could any owner let me know what they think of the bike? What's the mpg, upkeep, problems (or not) or any other thing to help me make up my mind.
Preciate it.

over 200 miles to a tank (5.5 gallons) great to ride. Just a little heavy! Upkeep has been minimal except tires. One break down in two years - wire burnt out at harness.

Welcome to the forums, glovere.

I don't have any experience in the vulcan 2000, but that's a lot of bike. Awesome styling to 'em. Good luck and let us know if you get it.

Thanks for the come back, Glovere. I've been really lucky with my 1500 FI. Got 48,000 on it and it still runs great. New clutch and tires is all. I am a little worried about the cost of your rear tire. Still looking and dreaming. Leaning toward the Nomad.

HI, I OWN A VULCAN 2000 LIMITED . I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF ANYONE HAS HEARD OF A PROBLEM WITH A BELT NOISE OR A GEAR NOISE ON THIS BIKE. I HAVE A LOUD WHINNING NOISE AT ABOUT 70 TO 72 MILES PER HOUR AT STEADY THROTTLE AND ON THE GAS. ALSO LOOKING FOR PERFORMANCE CAMSHAFTS.

I will get 2000 when they get cheaper a little. I don't think they are heavier than GoldWing.

I don't think there gonna get any cheaper, and I believe a volkswagen doesn't out weigh a goldwing:D
