Motor Swap
 

Hey all, I have an 02 Mean Streak that has a bad 1500 cc motor.. is an 04 1600 meanie motor a direct bolt in ? From what I can find out, the blocks are the same and only the stroke, throttle bodies and valve size are different.. the 1600 comes complete with the fuel injection and ecm.. Are the harnesses the same or will I have to modify some connections? Any help or comments would be greatly appreciated..

Well, I tried to get some info from my local dealer about the difference between an 02 1500 mean streak motor and an 04 1600 meanstreak.. they are absolutely useless.. from what I can found out is that the only difference is the stroke and valve size.. the block and efi are the same.. I'm hoping that the negines are a direct swap.. the 1600 comes complete with ECM.. any help with this can save me a ton of cash.. thanks in advance

and the wiring harness's are the same?

Just asking to make sure that the gauges and lights would work with the engine swap.
