Help!! 1000 miles from home bevel bearing failure

1999 Vulcan drifter 1500 I believe it's my bevel bearing. Started to lose my clutch and smoked like all hell then I pulled in to a gas station in Challis Idaho. I was able to get the expensive ass part.
order... but how involved is it too fix this
