I just purchased a 2001Vulcan 1500 nomad Fi .Stock as the day it was made .
Question is someone told me you could punch something on this system to give it some sound ? On the specs its called a Chamber ? What's that ? any help would be great .

 

The exhaust system that comes stock on the 1500s is horrendous. The primary tubes take a 90 degree bend right into a giant catalytic converter (commonly reffered to as a goats bladder), and then a 90 out and into the mufflers. They hide this with a heatshield, so you can't tell how stupid it really is. I guess you could punch out the belly, but it would probably be tough because its not a straight through design, the in/out pipes are next to each other. Doing this might also cause you to need to adjust your computer, same as if you changed to straight pipes, and the only way I know to do that is with a power commander that runs about 300 bucks. I'd ride it out for the season and save some cash over the winter, and upgrade to a nice aftermarket exhaust next spring. (I've found some great deals on used parts on ebay latelly, so take advantage of that resource when shopping for pipes).

Yes thats what someone else had told me . So as you said i think ill ride it thru the summer then this winter ill just change the whole deal maybe V&H . Thanks for the comment .
