Default carb synchronization problem

I have a '90 1500 Vulcan and recently performed a carb sync and mixture adjustment becaue it was popping and sputtering at idle. Now the bike seems to have lost its power. Is there a throttle sync that also needs to be performed along with the carbs? I'm not sure what caused this and I am waiting on a manual. I sync'd the carbs at idle and at about 2000. Neither way made a difference. It just seemed to have more ***** when it was out of sync and popping. If anyone has any experience with this or has a step-by-step that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Default RE: carb synchronization problem

A carb synch can only optimize performance if done correctly, so I suspect the problem lies with your mixture adjustment. Now that it's out of wack, you'll need to spend some time making 1/4 turn adjustments until it's running right again. I made this mistake with my last Ninja and regretted ever touching the mixture screws.
