THAT ISN'T NORMAL FOR MINE. MINE STAYS RIGHT AROUND 1200 AFTER IT'S WARMED UP AND JUST IDLING. IF YOURS IS A BIT IT SHOULD BE A HUGE DEAL TO DIAL YOUR IDLE BACK BIT. OTHER THAN ON HOT DAYS IN TRAFFIC DOES IT STILL IDLE THAT HIGH? SOUNDS LIKE AN EASY THROTTLE ADJUST IF ANYTHING.

That Idle is way to high, you should set it lower, like Ahuffy said it should be around 1000 rpms. set you idle(once the engine is warm, no choke) to around 1000

1000 is a little too low, try for 12-1300. Adjust it on the side...do you know where the **** is? left side in front of gas ****. 3000 is definitely way too high.

just make sure your bike is at operating temp when you adjust, or else it will change when it gets warm.

I have the same problem!!! I took it in the shop after i got it a few days ago, and they told me that my idle needed to be twiked. They fixed the idle and now it does that 300o rpm, like its "sticking" Does your idle go back down after lightly letting off the clutch?? I cant figure it out. Im just figuring that it will be fixed after i get my exhaust and jet kit on in a week or two.
