Talking Alright Rick................

Well, there's this guy that's down the street from my gf's house. He's got a '98 gsxr 600.
One day I hear all this reving from down the street, asked one of the neighbors what it's all about. They say he's doing some stuff to make his bike faster. I know he gutted the factory can out, but THINK the rest of the bike's stock. So, as most of you know, when I laid my bike down last year, I had a full Muzzy exhaust system put on in the old exhaust's place. Went from bolt-on to a full system.
Alright....to the point! Cant let that dude have the quickest 600 on the block! So, I dropped in a K&N air filter after removing the factory filter. Just got back from the test ride--- Never would have thought a simple filter would give a kick in the pants like that!
It pulls alot harder now. While I was in there I checked the fuel filter (idea from Rick), looks good. But shoot! Can't believe the filter made such a diff like that, Im impresed!
Now I need a jet kit and an ignition advancer and I think that should outta do it. Have thought about changing the gearing and that still may happen one day. I just remember reading something from Rick about the K&N making a difference---he was right!
Thank's Rick!

Told ya! I put one in after two or three weeks and felt it immediately. The jet kit is a pretty easy job, if you are comfortable taking the bike apart a little. The gearing made such a huge difference it is hard to remember what it was like before. Definitely got rid of the "mildness" of the bike before. For the advancer I still haven't put one in, just been too lazy. I have a good link to buy it at home so I will post it later. Glad you like it man.

I went up 3 in the rear, kept the front the same, and did it all in a 520 kit instead of the stock 530. Here is a link to the exact kit that I put on mine.

Speedo-healer, they are very very very easy to install. Plus you get that cool little top speed button that displays the highest speed you have hit recently when you press it.
