2003 Kawasaki ZZR600 Won't Start!
So, for starters, i rebuilt the carbs myself 4 months ago because my bike wouldn't turn over. After i rebuilt them, the bike worked fine. About 2 weeks ago, my bike stopped even TRYING to turn over. The only thing it does is activate the Fuel Pump and push gas into the carbs. I thought the starter was bad so i hooked it up to my bike battery and it worked fine from what i could tell. I wasn't sure if the Solenoid was clicking so i tried connecting the 2 posts with a screw driver and it did nothing. All the wires are fine that connect to the starter and solenoid. Anyone have any suggestions or clue what the problem could be?

Welcome to KF!
I'm not sure on the electronics of the ZZR, but check your manual for any sensors that might prevent it from starting, if its not sending power to the starter there must be a problem in the ignition system. Good Luck, hopefully someone can be more help.

Yeah, ive been chasing wires all day and cant find any problems. Is there anyway I can bypass the solenoid? Some people said connect the posts with a screw driver but all that does is make sparks and then grounds out.

Another thing. The bike won't even push start, i just tried and all it does is lock up the back tire. I tried in second gear too and it did the same thing. The bike has never had any problems so im not sure what this is. All the sensors look fine.

Hmmm, can you tell if the starter is engaging? If it does engage but is unable to turn the motor you may have a problem. If that is the case you should notice the lights dim when you hit the starter switch, but I'm not up on my ZZRs so I cant help much. Let us know what you find.

Well, when i connect the solenoid with a screwdriver the starter motor turns for like 1/2 sec., and then stops cause the solenoid posts try to melt to my screwdriver and it like grounds out. But when i press the switch to start the bike all that happens is the fuel pump engages and the junction box clicks. My voltmeter is messed up and i dont have the money to replace it due to losing my job recently, so i dont know how charged the battery is. When i hook it to my charger it starts getting REALLY hot. I heard that jumping a bike is okay as long as the car is off, is that true or could that still fry the electronics?

I'm afraid to plug any powersource into my ride other than the battery tender. Chances are nothing will happen, but I hate to take the chance. Could possibly be a bad relay but any diagnosis from this point will require a voltmeter. Can you change the fuse in your voltmeter and get it to work again?

Yeah, im gonna go get a fuse for it today i guess... The tire just locks up when i push start it, then let go of the clutch so i guess not? and the bike won't go into 2nd gear if its off (a safety feature i guess). And what do you mean "Turning the engine over by hand"? If your talking about the starter button, thats a no.
