I got a 1999 today and put pics in my gallery,I have to say this thing is insane
If you want to find everything about this bike, check out WWW.ZRXOA.org If it's been done, they have done it over there. They know what works, and what doesn't. Let me know if I can help you with any questions.

Congrats on the bike. You will love it.

You can't. Just put some Stabil in the tank and let it run for a few minutes so the it can get into the carbs.

I really wanted an 05 1200 but haven't seen one local for sale since the spring and I just couldn't wait and possibly miss out on finding one period.Hows the performance differ from the 1100 to the 1200?

I've never ridden an 1100, but a piped and jetted 11 is about the same HP as a stock 12. 1100 stock are around 98 HP with 70 ft lbs of torque. A 12 is 113 stock with about 78 ft lbs of torque. A piped and jetted 12 running pods will get you about 130 HP and almost 100 ft lbs of torque. I know guys who have around 165 hp with a 1224 kit. Another guy has dyno'd 239 hp running a turbo. These are a pretty bulletproof motor.

I've been told the 11's handle better though.

I haven't had the chance to really take her out for a ride yet, there has to be at least 1 warm day before the snow really flies. My buddy has a ZX11 and says it's almost the same motor and bike but more comfort while riding

If I happen across a 1200 over the winter that looks to be a great deal I may end up with one of each. $3000. for the one I have now and another around the same price would be twice as much fun and still less than a new bike

The ZRX 1100 motor is a de-tuned ZX11. Lots of guys have used ZX11 cams, ingniter box, engine covers on their REX's.

If I was to grow tired of the rex as it is I would consider upgrades but highly doubt it will happen,I love my stuff original and these bikes may be highly sought after in a few yrs like the kz1000 of yrs past.If I want something faster I will just buy a faster one.
