Yeaaaaaaaaa I paid my truck off!!!!
But I have re-thought running through the neighborhood naked. However, It really hasn't sunk in yet. Kind of like when you graduated from high school. You didn't really notice a difference until September came around again. So lets all take a minute to look back on some good times with the truck, and hopefully many, many more years of no payments. Good times...
Ain't she pretty......oh and the wife too.
Ok...I know what some of you are thinking..."deej you are losing it buddy" But this is the first time in my life I have ever paid off a vehicle. I have had 10 cars in my life on contracts, and all of them with the exception of this great truck I have paid like 80% then traded it on a different vehicle, and started all over. So for 25 years I have been making 1 or 2 payments. I think I have finally realized that not just because of the way the economy is, but because there is no need for me personally to be doing this anymore. That truck is a powerhouse and a workhorse. I bought it 7 years ago, when it was 2 years old with 80,000 miles on it. Which for a diesel is like 10,000 miles on any other vehicle. I now have 119,000. So you can see I put way less than miles than the average driver.
September will also see the end of a 7 year contract on the 2002 Toyota Camry. Total savings.....$750.00 a month! Now maybe I can actually plan for and execute a family vacation or just save some money. This is all new territory for me. Plus my wife just got a second part time job at the pharmacy, so hopefully we can get rid of some other bills and finally keep it simple.
Thanks for your time...this is "Tom Bodett "We’ll leave the light on for you"
Or as Paul Harvey would say...."Good day"
