Bummer king, a toasted bird. Buy a crate engine and throw it in if you plan on keeping it.

Yes they are both LT1s but with different internals and I believe that the Roadmaster, Caprice, & Impala have Cast Iron heads, insted of Aluminum.
I dont see why it wouldnt work but it would be a down grade.

+ 1 on Jasper Engines.

If you want a GM factory or GM Performance Engine let me know i am the Parts Mgr at Chevy. I could hook you up.

Sorry to hear your bird died man. Can you rebuild the original motor? Tear it down this winter and check it out. When a motor seizes, it's usually just in the cylinders so you might be able to knock it apart and bore it out. You never know till you tear it down.

Good luck Bro!

i might, the shop its at is a total custom place so they might be able to do it.

i sure as hell cant, no garage, no real tools, no form of dry storage, no diagrams, no patience.. wouldnt end to well

i do like the sound of a bored lt1, but as of now i only got a couple hundred on me at a time... might go for it, i dunno... i got some thinkin to do
