Before you bring your computer over to the Geek Squad or other computer repair business, check out this undercover report on how inept most computer repair "specialist" are.

I can personally attest to the geek squad being a bunch of idiots. It's funny that I heard the same exact line given to me that one of the geek squad employees gave to the undercover reporter at the best buy store. They SUCK big time!

Basically, a report team sets up a handful of computer repairmen to come out to fix a simple problem. About 70% of the repair specialist can't even figure out the problem, but try to sell the reporter stuff they don't need, or a new computer altogether.
It makes me want to learn all I can about repairing and troubleshooting on my own. I would hate to have one of these morons come to my house to bend me over for crap I don't need, or crap that won't even solve my problem.

Kind of reminds me of these stupid operators whose trucks I have to repair. Usually, when they come to me with a stupid problem, I'll tell them that there is a loose nut behind the wheel. It's amazing how few of them get it.

Yeah, I just had a Sergeant yelling his *** off at me and trying to tell me how to dispatchhis truck (which is really funny, because as a mechanic, that's half my job getting ready to dispatch trucks) and we got into it. Finally, I walked over to the truck and deadlined it (so it can't go anywhere). One day these bastards will learn that you don't mess with army mechanics... we have the power to make everybody's life a living hell.

Not really. Apparently he didn't understand the one basic truth of the military... There's four people you don't mess with: the cooks, the communications guys, supply, and the mechanics. They all have the power to make your life a living hell.
