my dad is the first in our line of "men" to live past the age of 52 all the rest were heavy drinkers and smokers he and I do not do either -well- maybe a little drink now and then. But now dad is 64 and has cancer; likely chemicals from the navy and "nam"

we are all exceptions to the rule

The guys that went to nam must have been exposed to some nasty chemicals. It is hard to beleive that our military would allow our soldiers to run those risks. I guess back then they didn't know as much about the affect of chemicals on the human body and the exposure limits. At least that is what I would like to think!

What gets me is those guys are so f'ed in the head. I used to work security with a nam vet and he was crazy. He would talk abt every man that he killed cutting his left ear off and wearing it on his belt and having it as a souvenier. Like who in the F wants to carry around a stinky ear on their belt???????

I know a lot of nam vet's, and most of the ones I know rarely ever talks about their experiences. But I know a lot of guys that fought over there, turned very animalistic. War will do that to you. I can see me doing the same thing after a while. After you kill so many people, life means nothing to you!
