Default tourist trophy lap times

Hoedogg and I were talking about the game a little at the ama races and I got to thinking. Has any one ever tried to see if they could match the motogp lap times for some tracks on the game? I've tried at a couple tracks and the best I could do waslike 6 or sosecs off. For example Edwords got a 123.19 at laguna seca. I can't see any way of matching his time no matter what bike i use.I need to play that game some more tonight.

I was trying it last night the best i could get with the zx-10 was 132 and the zx-6 was 138. I'm starting to think its not possible to match Edwords lap time. Oh just wanted to make sure people know there are two settings for the game. If you go into controlls you can turn off traction controll and it seperats the front and rear break so you can use them sepratley.

I know when they were developing GT4, they brought in race driversto test the engine and they produced consistent lap times butI havent heard of anyone trying to beat the real times tho. My guess is it would be really tough since you dont have the feel that the real racer would have and the control scheme although effective is nothing like the real thing. But I have noticed that no matter how goodI thinkI did, there is always some way for me to shave time, so it may be possible, however very unlikely, for you to shave 10 seconds off your run. Try wearing your gear when you play, might help ya out, besides you can't be too safe.

I hear you prom my the hyperoptics shield i have will keep the sun out of my eyes coming up the corkscrew . I was thinking that with the game you can push the bike more because you don't need to fear crashing.

Interesting point, but a real rider would have more feeling and would be more able to recognize the onset of any instability before the crash, if you push the virtual bike to its limit, you wont have such a clear indication of when you've gone too far. I think the real issues causing the difference is your skill as a gamer and your ability to input that skill through the analog sticks of the controller verses his years of experiance as a rider and also the customization that he has done to his bike to fit his skill and the course, for which the game does not offer many options outside of rider position and suspension plus 1 aftermarket exhaust as I recall. Anyway I hardly ever did the corkscrew thing, I always cut across the dirt Ken Gushi style but thats a little harder to do on a bike than it was in GT4.
