Tigers escape SF Zoo, maul several people, 1 dead
Sucks it happened and even worse it was on X-mas
One person was killed and two others injured early this evening after four San Francisco Zoo tigers got loose, officials said.
One tiger was shot and the other three have been contained, San Francisco Fire Chief Audrey Lee said.
Sources at the scene said the tiger was killed.
Shotgun-wielding police officers have crowded around the south zoo entrance and firefighters were using tall ladders to shine flashlights into the zoo through the dense eucalyptus trees.
The zoo was open despite the Christmas holiday. It was scheduled to close at 5 p.m. It was not immediately clear whether the person who was killed was a visitor or worker.

Crazy, why would those tigers want to kill anybody after being caged for years and getting three "squares" a day?! Maybe they got pissed getting hit in the head by peanuts and marshmallows all day long by the crowds!

the tigers were just doing what came naturel to them. Just like in the wild if a big cat saw you running it would chase you. Some person at the zoo must have seen the tiger and took off running and screaming and just like house cats when it seems something it chases it.

If you were a caged up Tiger, you'd be pissed too. That's why most captiveanimals attack. Imagine yourself in jail; 3 square meals a day? Yeah, I'd eat someone too.

I never did like zoos. I remember years ago a statement Yvon Chouinard (owner of Patagonia) made about if he found out that he had terminal cancer - he would strip down naked, cover himself in bacon grease and go jogging in grizzly bear country.
