Should I?

RE: Should I?
I know, I'm really helpful tonight. [&o] How about:
The 500 is a great bike from what I hear and the 89 model is exactly the same as the current model, minus a slight fairing change in 94, so you can bet its a solid design. The 500's also hold their value very well, if you keep it running it will sell for at least what you bought, so there is really no risk, and you will get to try a little slabbing, and you will never go back.
Although the age isnt much a a factor since the design hasnt changed, it is a 500. The 500 is on the slow end of sport bikes and is really more suited for sport touring or beginning riders. Since you have plenty of 2 wheel experiance I have no doubt you can handle a larger bike, if that is what you are looking for. In short if you want to go blazingly fast or show off in front of your freinds or just have the ability to do so, then keep looking. But if you want a Great street bike with no problems passing traffic on the freeway and an awesome cross country tourer then DO IT!!!!

RE: Should I?
back to deej's situation I forgot to mention something....If your'e going to beef up your engine like that, you will probably want to look into some sort of air intake and at least a straight pipe exhaust. I've heard horror stories of guys burning out their engines/exhuast from "chipping" up their trucks.
On my dodge I had an AFE stage 2 air intake and a straight pipe exhaust. No problems. On my chev i'm going to get a volant air intake (keeps the element cleaner longer) and either straight pipe or magnaflow exhaust.

Theft Recovery + Salvage Title + Still in pieces = [&:]
If it looks like he took care of it, and you can trust the guy I would go up to $300. But too many unknowns for the money. At least with the tat you know what your getting, post pics when its done.
