Okay guys, I've got a bit of leave coming up, and my boss suggested I go to the States and hire a bike for a couple of weeks since I'm not going to get the opportunity to do it again in the next few years - I'm just about to Branch transfer to Submarines!

The idea's stuck in my head, so I thought I'd do some research.

Please give me your thoughts on good places to go for a couple of weeks at Easter - It needs to be somewhere I'm going to be able to hire a bike (a 600 supersports at a minimum), and where I can get to see something over a two week period, without doing stupid miles each day - i'm happy doing between 200-300 miles each day. I don't really want to go on motorways, and it needs to be somewhere it's unlikely to be cold or wet!

I'd appreciate any help you could give....

for now, I'm disappearing for weekend leave....

right here in cali there is two rental shops by me insan jose and sanfransicoand some good wheather too.

 

+1 for CA. A lot of good roads here.

Just like anywhere else there are a lot of nice places to visit just not stay. I would recommend Cali or Florida. Probably better roads in Cali but the view is probably better in Florida since that is the time of Spring Break. Just not sure about the bike rentals.

 

If it were warmer, I would say go carve the roads in the Ozark Mountains.... but - they are not so warm right now. Also - good luck renting a sportbike... you will be able to rent a goldwing or harley long before a sport. $.02

I don't work for these guys, but I plan to use them soon. They do pickup and drop offs at airports all throughout So Cal. Call 'em and see what they offer. I live in So Cal and lately weather has been really great for riding.
