Default My new dream garage

Last summer we bought a new house with a 3-car garage. It was my hope that one day I would be able to turn the 1-car into a workshop. Fortunately, we had a little extra money and were able to start on it last month. This week the cabinets went in and it's ready for move in. I can't wait to get things out of boxes and put away.

This is how it looked before we started.

Here are some pics of the remodeling. We had to open up the walls to add insulation and additional outlets. We also extended the HVAC from the house into the garage.

I painted the ceiling dark grey and added 8 recessed lights and attic access.

The floors are really the highlight. I used Rust-Oleum Cherry Bomb metallic garage floor paint.

Ta-da! All done and ready for use.

I didn't upgrade the blower. We tapped into the line going to the guest bathroom on the other side of the garage and I closed that vent. I've been keeping the vent to the garage closed too unless I'm going to be in there. It's really too soon to tell if adding the vent will make a difference. I'll know come summer.

Very nice job on the garage. That's a nice workshop to tinker in.
