ems - you would be faster on a dialup connection.

deej - 1080i video with 5.1 surround at 44k eats up about 8 megabit. 5 megabit is enough for buffering - maybe with a 10 to 20 minute wait time up front. 2mb aint gonna get you squat. Have they changed out your modem yet?

Actually 5 mb is more than enough to run movies without any buffering time. My problem isn't getting more bandwidth, it trying to keep what I'm supposed to be getting. Grrrrr

Well here is a test just before 5 pm. As you can see I have 10.5 Mbps on all 3 tests, but I can guarantee after 6 pm it will drop to lower than low.

hmmm... what service provider are you with and what type of connection is it... cable, dsl...??? some times with certain types of internet the connections bandwidth is shared throughout a certain area say 2 blocks for example and if that is the case a few people in your area may be hogging all the bandwidth by doing huge downloads and or uploads certain times of the day and or night... thats why you are getting your proper speed sometimes, believe it or not that can happen high speed or not but i think that only cable is affected but dont quote me on that cus im not 100% shure

Told you before Deej - it's your providors upstream - they are over-subscribing, and the hours you mention are peak usage. They need a fatter pipe from their upstream.
