Default Hunting

Went out with a few buddies yesterday, got to my spot while it was still dark, and waited for daylight. Did not see one deer yesterday, but I did get a grouse, my first one ever! I was going to use the 44 with bird shot, but the grouse flew up about 40ft in a tree, so I borrowed my buddies Browning 22 pistol, and it took a couple of misses for me to dial it in. Mmmmmmmm I know what I'm having for lunch today.

Then toward the last couple of hours in the day we drove way out on a brushy road that was full of Black Berries, and then we ran into a fresh pile of bear droppings. It was HUGE!! The hair on the back of my neck stood up, it was awesome, but we didn't see him anywhere. Look at all the berries he's been eating. I have been told that a bear that feeds on berries tastes waaaaaay better than a bear that eats only fish.

Well that's the unofficial hunting report for the week. I might take a few days off this week to go hunting. Its fun just getting out.

Deej, did you try to poop on your gun? That gun is too nice for that kind of treatment. You should be ashamed of yourself.
Enjoy the wild game buddy, and of course, just messin wich ya mang!

Hahaha, I had to lay it there for a reference as to how big the pile was. But trust me I cleaned the gun right away.

a 410 does well with grouse. Deej, any animal that prefers blackberries is good to eat. Blacktail deer in the brush as in oregon grape or blackberry is good stuff.
