Default help w/ title information

After alot of back and forth on parting my bike, b/c I have atweaked frame,I found a frame with a "cd" title. Also known as certificate of destruction. Does anyone know much about this? Can I still register the bike or is the title no good now? Ive heard of salvage but no clue about a cd title. Thanks Josh

from my understanding, anything with a destruct tag on it is just that. not meant to be sold, used or even looked at by anyone other then the person thats destroying it. seen a few destroy tag things i cant speak of [:-]

You can get the frame certified as within tolerances, and have it inspected by the DMV. They will if it passes inspection issue you a new VIN plate for the bike. Really it's nearly the same process if you were to build a custom bike. You have to have all the DOT required stuff. People do this with classic cars which have been sold to junk yards, or don't have titles any more.

ok ill have to call the dmv, but is this an expensive process I wonder? Just to save 400 bucks on a frame. I had to bond a title one time and that was timely and expensive.
