Cochi Verde gets a new eye
I ordered an HID kit a few weeks ago for the ZX9, and it arrived with the wrong bulb... I wanted something more white and not so much blue. So I sent the bulb back and they sent the right one over the holiday weekend. I hooked it up just to test yesterday and it worked, so today I did a better job to install it, and had to extend the hot lead in order to position the relay for hi/lo somewhere other than on top of the engine block.
The install is still not perfect, but it is sufficient for the season. In order to do it right and completely conceal everything, I would need to use a garage and rip the entire front end off the bike. I will save that for winter time
Damn thing is BRIGHT and it is indeed WHITE... not blue. I am a little bit disappointed in the beam pattern which was lost a little from halogen bulbs... the horizon line is still there, but it got muddied up a bit... but the brightness makes up for it. Keep in mind the 2nd pic is with me OFF the bike... with my weight on it, the horizon line comes up quite a bit. No fatass jokes. :P
The only other negative things aside from the beam pattern getting a little distorted are the fact that since it is a single-bulb - it needs a relay in order to physically move a shield which covers the light for hi/lo. That extra piece of equipment is kinda a pain to have to find a location for without ripping the bike apart. The ballast is a bit larger than I was hoping for, but I will be able to conceal it inside the center cowling over the winter.

Ha, i just did kinda the same thing... i threw the old sealed beam headlight away from my honda, and installed a 7" round h4 conversion with a xenon halogen light.... much better... but yours is still wayyy brighter.
