Cheap sports bikes
I was reading about these motorcycles that cost from $1300 to around $1699 and wondering if they would even be safe to ride. I have never heard of them and they have Lifan air cooled V twin 250CCengines.
They look pretty good in some ways but how good of a bike could you get for that price. Could you see somebody buying one of these things and trying to rip up some twisties. Who knows what would happen.

Those actually look to be higher quality than the previous Ninja 250/500... and no offense to you owners out there, but after having ridden a few of both - that is one very low quality and downright dangerous feeling machine. That is a great bike to learn a lot of things that you are NOT supposed to do on. I dare say the Kantuna is better than either of those for early riders.
That being said - the new 250 is MUCH better, in the class of the 650. When they re-do the 500 for 09, it too will be equally nice.
Aside from the new 250, which is fetching $5k+ at most dealers, despite its $3400 MSRP... I would only consider the Hyosung bikes as non big-4 contenders. They are actually pretty decent machines.

Is it made from metal with the malleability of a piece of lead?
My grandma got me some tools from a catalog for Christmas. $15 shipped for a ~100 pc set. I was leveling a built-in pro fridge with a socket bit, and when I pulled the socket back out, it had twisted about 720 degrees! Had to use my actual socket set. I'd rather have almost anything than that cheap crap she buys. Her thinking is quantity, and all quality is the same. Trying to teach her that there's a reason you spend the extra money on stuff.

I walked into Pep Boys on Saturday and the first thing I saw was a blackNinja-clone sitting in their makeshift'showroom'. They had it priced right at the going rate for a leftover '07Ninja. It's probably a good bike but I'm betting longevity isn't on par with the bigger names. It's been my experience that you normally always get what you pay for...except in this case where IMO you'd be paying too much. If there is even a warranty, who does the work? Pep Boys??
