Anyone have a tacoma, or know someone with one?
FYI guys.... i work with a guy who's brother had a tacoma, a county cop stopped him in a park telling him to go have the dealer check the truck, they are having problems with the frames.... 95 and up years... so he goes to the dealer to get it looked at and the service manager comes out and says he needs to talk to him in his office.... the service manager tells him there is 10 points they check in the frames with a 1 pound sledge hammer, and his didnt pass, and tells him his truck is unsafe to drive home. Toyota gives him a rental truck, dodge ram, for 2 weeks... plus is buying back the tacoma off of him. The way they are figuring out what to buy it back for is they take the blue book value of the truck plus another 50%. He bought the truck a few years ago for 11K, well toyota bought it back for 17K, he just went and bought a tundra last week.... So if you know anyone with a tacoma.... tell them..... I dont know if it effects Mark, his truck is pretty new.... but its worth looking into.... This is not a myth.... they are actually doing it.

My sister has a 2001 Pre-runnerwith 110K on it and I guess it's relatively easy life inAtlanta has yielded no problems with the frame (or anything else for that matter). I don't think people outside the salt belt have as much to worry about...but she's keeping an eye on it anyway. I'm afraid something catastrophic would have to happen before she'd let go of it....it's been 100% trouble-free since day one.

Thats okay cause Dodge is going to be making trucks for toyota. No more tundras or tacomas, they will all be Rams. Dodge will be the first american company to export cars to a foreign producer/maker/whatever you call it. I love the looks of the yotas but Im a ford man.
