The slip off muffler is out so it is a bit loud now, the oil light is not coming off even after about thirty seconds and the noise seems to be coming from top side and right side. Was able to find a copy of the service manual for the ZX900C/D 2002 online, hoping it is basically similar as with the ZX9R 2002. So I am using the guideline from this manual and for the specs I'll speak with the forum, it is said great minds think alike, hoping some of you huys smarts eubs off on me, this there any reason for the oil cooler to become foul and in need of replace?

 

That's most likely cam chain. How many miles are on the bike? I would probably pull the valve cover, spec the valves, adjust the chain. Take a good look at the chain tensioner, which is likely made of plastic/nylon. If there's significant wear on the tensioner "foot" I would replace it while you're in that far. (Maybe replace the chain, too, but that's a bit more involved.) Use your manual.....
