I spent today digging parts out of my stash and getting a little motivation from looking at this:

Here's a glimpse at where I was robbing parts from:

Here's some of the parts I'll be using on this bike:

I have most of the frame how I want it:

I still have more work to do to the frame and I'll tackle that on my next couple days off. I have to go back to work tomorrow. Unfortunately. That work thing really gets in the way of my project time.

Unfortunately a block of aluminum I had for a project won't be big enough to do what I wanted.

I'll be buying a larger block of aluminum.

oh man, I am trying to think of where I placed my CNC programs for my adjustable triple clamps from way back when!

You're killing me. That would come in very handy right now.

what cnc equipment are you using? I used a ticker tape toshiba way back when, so would not really meet your needs at this time. lol A G code is just a G code, but I would not trust my program being transferred over to another machine. What are you running? That and I have not found the tape yet and have no way of replicating it. Sorry man, my brainstorm failed.

edit: If your programmer needs someone to BS with, that is an option as well.

Sorry for the lack of updates. A few weeks ago I had some time off so I decided to tackle the subframe. I want the brushed look the frame has on this too.

This is the second subframe I pulled out for this project. I need to get it stripped of paint to see if it will finish out right. If not I'll need to get another subframe. The first one had too many deep pits in it to make it work with the brushed finish I'm shooting for.

The problem with old bikes is corrosion and you have to get the paint off before you can see it.

I found a small spot on this subframe and you can see it in the middle area of the lower support arm:

It was minor enough that I was able to sand it out and press on with my project. Here's the finished result:
